This exceptional Waltham Vanguard is a high-grade railroad pocket watch featuring a Wind Indicator—a rare and desirable complication that displays the remaining power reserve. Produced in 1926, this 23-jewel timepiece embodies the peak of American railroad watchmaking. With a beautifully preserved case, full Montgomery dial, and precise performance, it’s an outstanding addition for collectors who appreciate both function and historical significance.

Manufacturer: Waltham

Estimated Production Year: 1926
Size: 16s

Movement: Runs excellent and keeps time within 1 minute per day! Not sure when it was serviced last. Therefore, we recommend having it serviced by a competent watchmaker for daily use.

Case: About 50mm (2 inches) wide, this gold-filled case is in excellent condition, with only slight wear. Cannot find any wear down to the brass. The glass crystal is in great condition.

Dial: The full Montgomery dial is in fantastic condition with beautifully matched hands, as seen in photos. Upon very close inspection under magnification, a faint hairline is visible from the seconds subchapter to near the 38-minute mark.

This is a pretty uncommon Waltham with a Wind-Indicator (sometimes called Up/Down indicator).  They don't make watches like the did when this Waltham Vanguard Railroad grade pocket watch was made nearly 100 years ago!
