Crafted in 1895 by the Hampden Watch Co. of Canton, Ohio, this 18-size Grade 44 pocket watch stands out for its uncommon 16-jewel movement—a rare specification for American makers of the time. Housed in a robust Silverode nickel case, the highlight of this piece is the rose gold inlay of a locomotive on the rear cover, a charming nod to the railroad heritage of American horology. With a strong-running lever-set movement and classic Roman numeral dial, this watch blends historical curiosity with bold vintage style.

Very interesting Hampden pocket watch with 16 jewels! Most American manufacturers, including Hampden would make watches with 15 or 17 jewels, but not 16). The "Silverode" nickel case has a nice rose gold inlay of a locomotive.
